Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP)

The Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP) is a voluntary program for the restoration and protection of wetlands on private property. Technical and financial assistance is provided in return for placing a conservation easement on the property for a minimum period of 10-30 years. Permanent easements are also established.

NRCS Michigan celebrated Earth Day 2007 by recognizing its first WRP easement agreement with an American Indian tribe. See photos of the event
