2005 Conservation Security Program - St. Joseph Watershed

St. Joseph Watershed Update

The St. Joseph Watershed, selected for the 2004 Conservation Security Program (CSP), is eligible for the program again in 2005. Producers who were eligible for the program in 2004, who did not receive a CSP contract, can apply during the 2005 sign-up from March 28 to May 27.

The watershed boundaries include 694,400 acres in northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio and south central Michigan.  In Michigan, portions of Hillsdale and Branch counties are within the watershed. This watershed was selected because of its high conservation activity, collaborative efforts of various groups and agencies, and presence of  threatened and endangered species and associated critical habitat areas.
